But this is not true; more energy is required for the person running the 5 km as his heart rate (thus blood flow) accelerates and decelerates faster. Because more energy is required (also take into account other factors such as the heat energy generated by the body through the intensity of the run), more fat is burned for this energy, thus more weight is lost.
